Description

Ever wanted to look into the creative idiocy genius of the man known only as Zamidge?
...No? Well, let's pretend you did. Here's a concept sketch, complete with the inane scribblings of a probable madman in the top right corner. If you can read my handwriting, I commend you. Truly.

I came up with another story today (what else is new?) and this is a part of the result... I was lacking in inspiration for anything else, so I decided I'd start drawing up some concept art for this new story I just recently came up with.

Spellbinders are a magical race that see humans as primitive, inferior beings. The Spellbinder's only way of accessing the arcane world is via mysterious spell tomes, their origins a closely guarded secret by Spellbinder royalty. These tomes' numbers are seemingly endless, and any Spellbinder can purchase as many as they want so long as they have the funds to do so. These spell tomes are blank, and allow the owner to manipulate their own specific "reality"-- the physical world that is known to each individual-- by inscribing them with a unique magical language. With the proper training and skill, one may master this language, and achieve anything one desires so long as it is attainable in the individual's present reality. To reduce their likelihood of accidentally becoming part of a malicious Spellbinder's reality, most Spellbinders conceal or obscure their faces  when in public and avoid interaction with others unless absolutely necessary. It is not out of the ordinary for Spellbinders to completely ignore strangers as if they do not exist, for indeed, if they did come to exist in their reality, it could cause problems for either party involved. Spellbinders will normally only reveal their faces to family and close friends, and most business transactions are done through faceless golems to avoid trickery. Spellbinders have long, delicate tails that they will commonly wrap around one of their legs to avoid having it stepped upon. Walking about with an un-tucked tail is seen as flippant or flirtatious behaviour. These tails vary in length from Spellbinder to Spellbinder.

Spellbinders and this idea in general are restricted copyrights of the existing and unbelievably legitimate Jake Dixon Industries. All rights reserved.

It's heading into winter here, so I'm sitting here with numb hands and all I can think is "that picture is woefully unprepared for the cold" :XD: Good concept though, both for the story and character design :) This may be my favourite of your drawings so far :)
